Alberta Premier to Visit China and Japan

19 Apr 2017 11:00 AM | Anonymous

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley is travelling to China and Japan from April 17 to 27 on her first mission to the Asia Pacific region to help build relationships with key leaders and decision makers. Common themes will include opportunities to collaborate on climate change and growing capacity for clean technology and renewables. The mission’s priority is to diversify Alberta’s export market and highlight the province’s commercial strengths, including in tourism and oil and gas exports to Asia. Economic Development and Trade Minister Deron Bilous will join the Premier for what will be his third mission to the region. China and Japan are Alberta’s second- and third-largest trading partners, respectively.
