EVENT NOTICE
Business Competitiveness in the Trump Neighborhood
by Dr. Laura Dawson
Director, Canada Institute, Wilson Centre
We are honoured to announce that we will host Dr. Laura Dawson for our next luncheon event. With recent developments on new trade agreements between Canada, US and Japan, the time has never been better to hear perspectives from an expert like Dr. Dawson. We hope to see many of you at the luncheon.
About the presentation
The election of President Donald Trump in 2016 unleashed a tempest of global trade and investment instability across North America even as it has catalyzed growth in the United States. US trading partners both benefit from demand and shut out by tariffs. During this lunchtime discussion, Dr. Dawson will discuss the current trajectory of US trading relationships (USMCA and CPTPP) and how new developments will affect Canada and Japan as well as domestic strategies to mitigate against the effects of instability.
