Mr. Eric Miller, President of Rideau Potomac Strategy Group

Japan, Canada and the United States are each facing competing challenges in navigating the breakdown of the post-World War II, American-led economic order. The rise of China and the paralysis at the World Trade Organization coupled with the fulcrum of global growth shifting increasingly toward East and South Asia have pushed Canada, Japan and the United States to reassess their trade strategies with each other and more broadly. This talk will provide an overview of recent trade developments among Canada, Japan and the United States and assess what will (and should) come next. It will also assess how Japanese, Canadian and U.S. globally active companies are adjusting to these shifting trade patterns and offer some guideposts for navigating this brave new world of trade.
