Event report: Networking Cocktail Event with Ambassador Ian Burney

The Japan Society, Toronto Shokokai, and Torys co-hosted a professional networking cocktail event on March 16, 2023. A Keynote speech was given by a former Canadian Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Ian Burney. Ambassador Burney highlighted bilateral trade and investment trends, how Canada's Indo-Pacific Strategy should be implemented, and the importance of Canada's relations with Asia, and Japan. 

It was one of the first evening program that we hosted since the pandemic and we were joined by over 50 guests of business executives from Canada-Japan community across Toronto. An opening remarks were provided by Mr. Don Bell, Partner of Torys, Mr. Tatsuji Hidaka, President of Shokokai (2022), and Kampai (Toast) was done by Mr. Takuya Sasayama, Consul-General of Japan in Toronto.
